Overview

Position Summary: 

The Psychology program within the department of Social Sciences is looking for qualified candidates who can serve as adjunct instructors to teach courses on-campus and/or online. D’Youville houses both a traditional on-campus B.A. in psychology curricula as well as a fully online B.A. in psychology curricula. Courses or topic areas potentially in need of staffing include general, developmental, physiological, behavioral/clinical, cognitive, experimental, forensic/legal, social/personality, and industrial/organizational psychology. The department is accepting applications for positions to be filled as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or higher in psychology or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Previous experience with teaching in higher education is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to utilize various software programs including the institution’s Learning Management System (Canvas) related to the delivery of online course content

Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned course in accordance with its established learning outcomes.
  • Develop and implement course assignments and deliver learning activities that permit measurement of course student learning outcomes.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative course environment
  • Report progress updates and final grades for students.
  • Provide access to and timely response to students via in-person (e.g., office hours), videoconference, or telephone.
  • Uphold the mission and vision of D’Youville.
