Assistant Psychology Professor

Governors State University’s College of Education invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Division of Psychology and Counseling to begin August 2023. Psychology faculty support an undergraduate program (500 majors and minors), an M.A. program in Clinical Psychology, and an Ed.S. in School Psychology. We seek candidates who fit with our scientist-practitioner philosophy of teaching students how to address controversial psychological questions using the scientific process, and training students in the knowledge and application of empirically supported, evidence-based, and culturally responsive practices. Applicants must have a passion for teaching undergraduate students and working with a range of ages, first-generation students, and underrepresented students.

Responsibilities will include:
Teaching undergraduate courses with the possibility of graduate courses in the Division of Psychology;
Maintaining an active scholarship agenda, and;
Participating in departmental, university, and external service.
