The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Education and Human Development, Department of Educational Psychology invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant level beginning Fall 2025.

College

 

UTSA's College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) is home to approximately 2,000 students enrolled in more than 30 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The COEHD is comprised of six unique departments, each of which is essential to advancing its mission. These include the Departments of Bicultural/Bilingual Studies, Counseling, Educational Psychology, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching, and Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Department

 

The Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) consists of 13 full-time faculty members and offers masters degrees in applied educational psychology, behavior analysis, and school psychology and a doctoral degree in school psychology. Our faculty and students have been recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally for excellence in both research and teaching.

 

Position Summary

 

The successful candidate will (1) teach in the UTSA Behavior Analysis Program (housed in the Department of Educational Psychology), (2) support students as they obtain coursework, research experience, and applied fieldwork experience in pursuit of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and (3) continue the department's success of building relationships with clinics, schools and agencies throughout the San Antonio community.

 

Responsibilities include: teaching; advising and supervising students in thesis-equivalent projects; conducting an active program of research; seeking extramural grant funding; and providing service to the department, college, and university. There is also the potential for the successful candidate to assume a leadership role in the department's Behavior Analysis program.

 

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will possess: (1) Earned doctorate in Behavior Analysis, Educational Psychology, Psychology, Special Education, or related field by August 1, 2025 (ABD will not be considered), and (2) a record of scholarly productivity and extramural funding commensurate with level of experience with preference given to research focused on adult and adolescents with disabilities, employment, and/or transition research, (3) a Board Certified Behavior Analyst Credential, and (4) the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of first generation and low-income students and be committed to assisting the University's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution.

 

Preferred Qualifications: (1) doctorate from a Behavior Analysis program verified or accredited by ABAI; (2) possess or be eligible for Texas licensure (Licensed Behavior Analyst); (3) teaching experience at the graduate level that includes behavior analytic courses such as introduction to behavior analysis, behavior assessment, research methods, and intervention; (4) research experience in behavior analysis; (5) quantitative skills with an emphasis on single-case research methods or group experimental design; and (6) applied experience providing behavior analytic services.
