Position Description. The Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Purdue University invites applications for a position at the Associate/Full level. The department seeks candidates with an established program of research that contributes to promoting diversity in developmental and family science, in particular those who aim to understand the unique strengths, contexts, and communities of underrepresented and marginalized (URM) families.
We are especially interested in scholars whose work focuses on ethnic and cultural variations in families and development, racialized experiences, health and/or disparities, immigrant families, community-based participatory research, educational processes related to dual language learners, family systems and involvement in URM child and adolescent, the psychosocial experience of vulnerable and culturally diverse populations, and families affected by poverty or other adverse circumstances. This position would complement existing work being conducted in the department and college on Latinx, Multiracial, Asian American, and Black youth and families, and cross-cultural development. Applicants with research experience in childhood through adolescence are particularly welcomed.
