Type of Assignment: Full-Time Faculty
Position Available: MiraCosta College’s Student Accessibility Services (SAS) department (formerly DSPS) invites applications for one equity-minded, full-time 195-days-per-year, tenure-track faculty position, beginning in July 2024. Principal responsibilities include providing specialized counseling for students with disabilities and working as an integral member of a team that facilitates and delivers services to students with a variety of disabilities. The person selected will share leadership roles with other full-time faculty in the Student Accessibility Services department. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all full-time faculty to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
Compensation: Initial salary placement is based on education and experience and ranges from $94,661 (class I, step 1 × 1.1080 time factor for 195 on-duty days per year) to $158,472 (class VI-doctorate, step 10 × 1.1080 time factor) on the 2024-2025 Annual Salary Schedule. Employees must make arrangements for the direct deposit of paychecks into the financial institution of their choice, via electronic fund transfer.
