Overview
The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University–New Brunswick invites applications for a full-time associate professor tenure-track faculty position in the School Psychology Department. Applications for an assistant professor level will also be considered. The selected individual will advise graduate students, supervise doctoral dissertations, engage in an active, applied research program, contribute service to the department/university/profession, and teach graduate courses related to diversity, service delivery, assessment, and/or research methodology included within our required course sequence in our APA-accredited, NASP-approved School Psychology Program.
Rutgers University, New Brunswick is a research-intensive university. As such, desirable applicants will have strong methodological skills and a developing or established record of excellence in applied research consistent with an early or mid-career scholar, as demonstrated through multiple, peer-reviewed articles published in relevant fields. The applicant would also demonstrate promise for securing external funding, as shown through evidence of submitted grant proposals. Specific areas of research are open, although preference will be given to faculty with a strong interest and expertise in culturally, racially, and/or linguistically-diverse initiatives and practices which serve to enhance equity and inclusion in school and related contexts. Specific areas of expertise may also include culturally responsive assessment and intervention practices or culturally-informed research methodologies. We aim to prepare well-educated, qualified, and competent psychologists who have a special commitment to direct community involvement and to underserved populations—professionals who can integrate scientific knowledge with innovation in the delivery of psychological services to individuals, families, groups, and organizations.
