Salary Range: Up to $48,484.89 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: Period of appointment: September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2027, exempt.

Essential Functions

Full time non tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice hire would be expected to have a 70% teaching load and teach three courses per semester. Depending upon school counseling preferred qualifications, this person would serve as a school counseling program faculty and help the Department meet capacity needs in the School Counseling Program.

Required Qualifications

  • A doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program.
  • One or more years post-masters clinical experience and/or counselor education teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness teaching Counseling courses via traditional and/or non-traditional course formats.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and administration.
  • Commitment to quality teaching and professionalism.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in regularly scheduled meetings and department committees on campus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LPC or LPC-S licensure and/or School Counseling Certification.
  • One or more years post-doctoral Counselor education and supervision teaching experience.

Working Conditions

This position will require working both remotely in Texas and on UTSA downtown campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
